I'm looking for a scope for my Savage Rascal. My grandkids like to shoot it. I want to put a scope on it. Maybe 3-9x40 but I don't want to break the bank. Can anyone recommend a scope for under $100.00

I found a discontinued Nikon ProStaff Rimfire 4X (factory adjusted parallax free at 50 yds) on Ebay that fits the Rascal factory bases and rings perfectly. It was $138.
WARNING: Wall of text unrelated to your original question follows, but an idea for once your grandkids outgrow the Rascal.
I converted mine when my g'kids outgrew it to shoot garden pests by building up the comb and adding to the LOP with spacers under a cuff. It wears a Streamlight on a short piece of rail under the forend for dusk and dawn duty. Although its not parallel to the bore, it throws enough light in a wide beam to allow decent target discrimination in half-light.
Of course, I had to fix the firing pin to eliminate the usual Rascal FTF's, so it is now reliable, too.
This was the original idea, and it has been modified more since I started the project in 2020:

It's a neat little gun that the kids loved when it was original!! It has a new job now, in its new configuration, and gets the job done with head shots with CCI SV's out to 50 yards easily.

My grandkids' Rascal has "grown up" to take on pest control duties in the country. It has a great trigger, really likes Aguila subsonic solid point 40gr ammo, and stays in the x-ring (off bags) at 25 yards using a retired Ultradot red dot in the Ultradot factory rings on the Savage Rascal...
