Savage Predator Rifle

What's you opinion of this rifle in 223 Rem. as a varmint / predator hunting rifle.

Specs: 9" twist, 8.7 lbs, 24" medium contour barrel.

Should be a shooter. I have seen some Savages that were scary accurate. As a matter of fact, I haven't seen a Savage first hand that wouldn't shoot atleast MOA.

Got a predator 10 and a 110, a 204 and 6.5/284 both shoot in the .2's moa @ 100 yds,have shot groups below .1 w/ both

Well...not a 223 but I just bought a Savage Predator rifle in 243 win. and it is a good shooter.
Well Under MOA with my reloads. I would recommend it.

I shoot a 10fp in 223 that is amazingly accurate.
One friend has a 10 predator in 22-250 and another in 223. They both shot great as well.

I had a .223 for varmints once. Until I realized a 22-250 or a .243 were way better. For me anyway.

Thanks for the input - have a chance to get one which is like new (less than 50 rounds through it) for about half the price of a new one.

I've got a Savage 12FV in .223 that is scary accurate right out of the box. Added a laminate stock and Vortex Crossfire II with illuminated reticle and varmints seem to drop dead upon just hearing my car door open
