I have a Savage (2 screw?) 110 FP in 30-06 I like to take to club shoots to compete in their "stock" class benchrest at 200 yards.
In order to compete in this class I can't do much to the rifle to make it shoot better. Has to have factory barrel, factory stock, factory cartridge (no wildcats) and factory trigger. What I can do to it is add a muzzle brake, recrown it, fix the trigger, and bed the rifle.
I have a smith recrown and install a muzzle brake, those both improved accuracy. The trigger is "fine" for the gun so I am not looking to change that. I have to retain the stock so I figured I would possibly pillar bed it and/or glass bed the gun.
If I ruin the stock I can just get a new one so I am willing to dive into this one? Should I just pillar bed it? Just glass bed it? I am a total newbie on the process so I am looking for help.
I want to squeeze a little more accuracy out of this gun. She shoots submoa right now but I have no dreams of achieving what my custom built bat actioned 30BR does.
