Savage model 12 f class

I see Savage has introduced a f class rifle in 6.5-284 and 308 it has a 30 inch barrel not sure on the weight. Just wandering if any one has had any experience with one. Curious about what kind of accuracy you could expect.

shooting times tested the 308 had three shots at 500 yards you could cover with a quarter. something like that anyway. it has been awhile since that issue, however accuracy was pretty good from what i remember.

Savage says the f class gun will not be out till the end of july.
I will probably be very tough to get one then, if you want one you should order one now. A fair price is 950. There will be alot of guys trying to sell them for 1200 just like the f/tr rifle. as for accuracy id expect .5moa.

I still have an order in. My dealer's anxious to get a look at one too. It was priced to me at $964. Will just have to see if that price holds true.

If that rig is over say 700 dollars ..I'd get a regular SS action old style & fit it out with a nice comfortable stock, replacement trigger, special order barrel..& a solid one piece base to mount the best scope you can buy on it...I'm sure the savage people will do a nice job on the factory rig...But it is just so much fun building off that action...The results have been so good..not just for me..Plenty of people are starting custom guns those actions....heres a pic of a work in progress & it shoots very well...mike in ct
