ill be receiving my savage model 12 6mmbr f class in a few days 1x8 twist factory barrel need some good loads using varget or rl15 have 105vld i shoot in brx have 107 smk cci450mag primers 205fedmatch if i use 107 do they like jump most shooting right now 100ydsn. also redding type s dies& brass bluebx. thanks for imput also what is the lightest bullet i could use an get accuracywith this twist shooter63.

I use Lapua brass, 31.0gr of Varget, CCI BR4 primers, and Berger 105VLD's. My COL is .040 jam into the lands. Good luck with your new gun. Brian Brown.

My gun is the Savage Benchrest. I beleive it is the same gun as yours with two exceptions: Yours sports a 30" barrel, whereas mine is 29"; the stock design is slightly different.

Varget & RL 15 lots vary in burn rate. Start with 29gr. of either and work up. Mine ended up at 30.2 for each.

+1 --- 30.0 gr may be upper in your gun with Varget and a particular lot. Always drop 10% and work up to your safe limit. Both of my 6BRs love Varget and RE-15 with the 107s. I personally have good experience with RE-17 and the 95 Berger VLDs. Luck with your gun, Tim

105 VLD,or123 lapua, Rl15 29.8 for 300 yds and out, 80gr berger fb, rl15 30.0 for 100 and 200yds. can use varget too but i liked RL15 best, with same powder charge.Just touch lands with a new gun and then move in to about .006 jam and chase the lands from there. You will like the Savage.
