Savage fv rifle on sale at cabelas

Last Thursday I bought a savage 12 fv in 223 cal for $419.00 plus they send u rebate check back for 100.00. Will now they are sale for even less!! Man I am mad at myself ha ha ha. $349.00 and you still get the 100.00 rebate check when u send the coupon in. I think I might have to go back and buy the 308 cal. This gun has the varmint big round 26 inch barrel with accura trigger. That means gun is $249.00 if every thing works out ok. Question...... Couple years ago I bought the savage axis in 308. It kick the snot out of me. Wondering if I buy a nice Boyd thumb hole stock on this 308 or the heaviest stock Boyd makes for this gun and then put a recoil reducer in stock or a bunch of lead and big muzzle break on it ( any one know who makes one for bull type barrel ) do you think it would take the recoil out if this gun ? At $249.00 I would like to take a chance on it for this price. Will just use it for target shooting out to 1000 yards when I retire in the next few years. Your thoughts on these subjects. Any one shoot the savage fv here ?

i had one in 22-250, i rebarreled it in a 6.5 creed and glass bedded it in a boyds stock and it shoots amazing.... for that price i will pb go buy one.. if only just for the action... but i would assume the stock 308 would shoot good... and i would bet that a heavier stock plus if you did have a break put on it.. i bet it would calm it way down, i have seen some muzzle breaks do some amazing things.

Bought one in 204 about a month ago. Shot factory ammo really well but went downhill quickly as the barrel fouled. I'm sure that would remedy itself as it gets broke in. Wasn't a fan of the tupperware stock so I bought a Bobby hart LRT laminated stock for $190 from Stocky's. Very happy with that stock. Then screwed on a brux chambered in 6-284. Hope to get out to see how this plan comes together in the next couple days. Hard to go wrong with a net price of $250!

I received an email last week saying the $100 rebate was in process. I'll post if it gets rejected for some reason but I believe it's any model 10, 12, 110 etc..

I have submitted 6 rebates this year so far. Mainly for 12 fvs and a 112 target magnum. The 112 is the only one I submitted that was on the list but is also the only that has not been paid out, but technically the rebate documentation doesn't include the 112. In short the 12 fv should have no problem getting the rebate paid out.

I bought one in 22-250. Very accurate. Nice trigger. I couldn't rebarrel my old one for the price of the new one with the rebate.

I asked Cabelas at Rapid City about the rebate, the guy said he didn't think the Cabelas Exclusives qualified for the rebate. If he was wrong, I'm going to be upset.

They qualify. I got my check in about 4 weeks. I think it helps expedite the process to do the prequalify registration. If I can find one in 223, ill buy another before the rebate runs out.

How many rebates can be submitted under the same address? Normally its just one, guess I could use a friends/family address or is there any need?

A brake would cost about the same.
