Savage F class vs. Dual Port

I was wondering if anyone has used the Savage Bench rest rifle yet,the dual port factory). I have heard great things about the F class but not dual port. And if someone could compare the two that would be great. My main concern is the stock on the dual port. Let me know what you guys think.

Josh,
I don't own either but a friend has the F Class stock and it's a dud........the bottom of the stock won't track a rear bag because it narrows toward the butt, also the forend is short for long range benchrest. Not sure how it works for F Class as I don't shoot it. The pic's on a test of the dual port benchrest stock looked like a much better design but I've not handled one.

The Palma and the Benchrest are dual port and have a different action screw pattern than the F and F/TR. Savage is slowly transitioning all of their target actions to the Palma action screw pattern. The center action screw is located in the same position but the front and rear action screws are closer to the center. Savage says that due to the action screws being located closer to the center and into the "meatier" part of the action, that it is a more rigid design. It also makes bedding the action easier due to the rear action screw not being so close to the trigger. JT

I found a used Benchrest in 6BR at Cabelas and picked it up. It appeared to be in mint unfired condition. I have fired approximately 100 rounds and haven't been able to get under a 1/2 inch. I've tried RL 15 and H4895 with Berger 105 and Sierra 107s at different lengths. I'm going to try some lighter bullets and maybe bed the action. If that doesn't work it will be gone.
I do really like the dual port....I can't say it is fast but, it is convenient.

I have a dual port rifle (not a Savage) and am looking into a way to block off the RHS port. I find that when I am trying to hurry and throw cases into the port, it sticks out the RHS port and jams the bolt. Mine ejects left, and I feed it left, so I hardly use the RHS port. Doing so would mean another hand with a job to do.
