Savage BVSS 223 LOAD ??

Ok guys just came across a smokin deal on a Savage BVSS in 223. Anyone shooting one and what bullets is it liking. I know ALL barrels are different but figured i would get some input on loads before i start loading.
Thank You and Good Shooting to ALL

Try Varget with 55 grain Nosler BT's or 55 Grain Hornady Vmax's and Federal 205 match primers. Should shoot 1/2 moa or better if barrel is good and action bedding is good.

I've only ever used R-15 & Varget in both gas guns and my Savage 112BT which is basicaly the same as your BVSS, look here for Sierra's Bolt Gun Load Chart: http://accurateshooter.net/Downloads/sierra223rembolt.pdf

I use Fed. GMM Brass, Fed. GMM Primer, 26.3 gr. of Varget or 25.9gr. R-15 per my load book for my Savage 1-9" twist 112BT, both .010 off the lands and single loaded.

Hornady BTHP and AMAX work great out of it also, 24.6grs of Varget, again .010 off the lands and single loaded.

Just a quick little diddy to think about here...BVSS .223 shot factory Hornady 55g V-max's into less than 1/2minute groups w/ bipod prone out to 300yds (furthest i went at the time). Chopped and threaded barrel at 22.5" for my can and did stock swap for a Stockade(unbedded). STILL shoots less than 1/2 min out to 150 yds w/same load and lot but not sure how much speed i might have lost(no crony). Pasture Grizzly's beware.

Any suggestions for the Sierra 69 grain HPBT?? Powder , primer??

For what its worth my M10 Savage does pretty well with 25 gr. of Varget and the 69. I use Rem 7.5 primers in all my .20 and .223 loads.

I just tried the 73 Berger in the M10 and an M-4. WOW. It has instantly become my favorite bullet for my faster twist .223s.

Well first time out proved to be promising. I loaded up all loads with Varget and 205m primers. The 69 SMK's shot a 4 shot half inch group .020 off the lands. The 68 Hornady Match shot a half inch 4 shot group at .020 off the lands. The Nosler 55 ball tips shot 2 quarter inch 3 shot groups,1-touching and 1- .020 off the lands. She seems to like the same jump in all 3 bullets. Next time out i will start at the .020 jump and tune from there. If you get the right Savage it just makes you love a off the shelf production. Then again if you stumble across the wrong one God Bless You " I know i went down that road". Just for reference to others the BVSS 223 has a long throat in it.
