Savage bolt face lapping

Need advice on this one. I have matching savage 12F's in 6mmbr. I'm putting on new bartlien barrels, ppg bolt face lugs, cnc machined barrel nuts, and lugs.
My question is should I lap the bolt face to action?
If I do it I will be using wheeler 120 grit lapping compound work.
If so should I use my old factory savage lug, or my new ppg's lapping the action surface by hand putting pressure on the bolt, and rotating it.
I plan on bedding the rifles with devcon 10110 as well

Any thoughts on this from people who have done the lapping, or other work would be great.
Oh these rifles are for 600 yrd bench rest shooting, using the factory laminated stocks.

Your terminology is confusing to me. If you mean lapping the bolt head lugs to the action abutments, I would say it's a waste of time. Savage's flexible bolt head design will provide full engagement of both lugs on a normal action when fired. Measure the distance from the receiver ring face to the each abutment with a depth mic. I'll bet they will be within .001" of each other. The bolt head can certainly compensate for that or more.

If your talking lapping the lugs it is a
Good idea . I never have found a Savage that is very far off .
I do polish the bolt face also it helps with bolt opening . I do that with a felt pad and a fine polishing compound with a dremmal tool . Larry

Lapping the lugs, is it as simple as putting 800 grit lapping compound on the lugs and working the action a bunch of times?
