Savage actions

Does any one know if the savage action used on their .338 lapua Magnums is any different than their standard large shank/long actions? looking to build a boomer bigger than my 300 WBY mag and think this could be a cheap way out. thanks for any help

I've seen them in stores and they don't look identical to the normal long action.

The lug in the receiver is a little thicker and the lugs are a little thicker. I spoke with the engineer at the NRA convention when they were here in pittsburgh a few years ago.
