Savage AccuTrigger Failure - Unintentional Discharge.

This is not about the pros or cons of the Accutrigger, I'm just looking for a real explanation as to how this happens.
I have a Savage Model 11, and it has always had a problem with dropping the primary sear on bolt close, Sent it back to savage several times, got a bit better, but still happens. Recently I have had two(2) actual discharges on bolt close without any contact with the trigger at all. I just don't understand why the supposedly super safe accutrigger ( secondary safety sear) allows the rifle to fire. I can't make this happen op purpose when I try, as the secondary always functions as designed, so there is obviously something I am missing or not seeing/understanding.
Since this particular rifle was built as a "trainer/loaner" for my son or others who might want to try F class before investing in thier own I really like the concept of the accutrigger, Until Now.

Any help is appreciated
Thanks

What's the pull weight? Does the set screw work it's way out making the pull lighter and lighter?

I've had issues where the trigger will go half-cocked making you re-rack the bolt... but I've never had it drop the firing pin.

How big are your fingers ? Not the length . I’m not kidding . I witnessed a similar locally . The guy had sausage size short fingers . The stock was too long as was the depth of the pistol grip . Once he learned a different hold ( pull trigger straight ) all was well .
What did Savage say . Do NOT let anyone shoot till you figure it out . Did anyone stone or modify the sear angle ? Savage replace any parts ?

It's set at about 2#, primarily as I don't want it too light for the intended users. Actually on the second occurrence I had stiffened it up a touch to try to prevent the dropping of the primary sear (The half cock thingy).

Fingers are not even near the trigger. The right hand was working the bolt.

Savage said nothing other than "repaired". Now this was for the issue of dropping the primary trigger sear and going into the locked half cock state being held by the accutrigger sear, not actually discharging. During the original issue they kept telling me I was pressing on the side of the trigger and other BS, until I actually got a video of it happening with nothing even near the trigger. It came back with the "Repaired" comment, but my guess is it was just a replacement.
As for now, this gun has been converted into a semi custom and I only shoot handloads, so they are of no use as both of those are strictly forbidden. Right....

The only way that can happen is if that secondary sear is too short, the one that catches it when the pin falls every other bolt closure.

I don't think it is too short based on the fact that I can't seem to replicate it, there is actually quite a bit of length to catch the movement, say maybe .100 to .150.

But, I'm now wondering if the little "tang" on thee blade that goes through the notch in the trigger is possibly hanging on rare occasion and not letting the accutrigger safety reset???? I was able to sort of force it to do that, but not sure if it could happen naturally. Ill keep playing with it, and maybe even clean up that "tang" thingy.

I was also thinking maybe it was some dirt or something that got into the trigger mechanism that kept the accutrigger from resetting, but that I will never be able to prove.

Just make sure both blades move freely and do not stick from grit or something. Flush out the springs and spring pockets with carb cleaner and make sure theyre very smooth
