Savage 6.5

Does anyone know what the difference is between a regular Savage 6.5 and the long range hunter 6.5 is ? I didn't know if the barrels were of different quality or ,any e a better action or what. I know the long range hunter comes with muzzle break and adjustable cheek riser, but is that the only thing didderent?

The 2 things you mentioned plus the LRH comes with the Accustock with a hinged floor plate magazine.

The 6.5 you mention being a creedmore IS offered in different savage models. The Long Range Hunter gun has an adjustable cheek piece, fluted light varmint barrel, accustock and muzzlebrake ( possibly a DBM on some calibers). The action is a standard SA or LA ( small shank) depending on which Long Range Hunter caliber you choose.

Thanks guys, I have two Savage Axis and am very happy with both. Buying rifles on a moderate retirement makes a man hopeful of getting a $6000 rifle for $1000 LOL. I'm sure I'll be very happy with it. I realize that I'm not going to win any 1000 yrd matches with it but people around here still call me a liar for eggs at 300. I have fun.

One caution on the LRH. Clean the open/close brake thoroughly and often. They are notorious for freezing up in one position or the other, often after one day at the range.
