Savage 16 or 116 Bear Hunter ??

I have a friend who is interested in one of these. He is a hunter and would use this for hunting in the west. Are the stocks on these rifles rigid or tupperware type? Are they accurate out of the box?If 300WSM is choosen do they feed properly? Is the muzzle brake removable for hunting?What other factory rifle would be recommended?

I have posted several posts on the same issues here for several months. I havent found anyone that has one. I was more interested in velocity due to a 21" barrel. Savage claims 23" but the 2" muzzle break doesnt count in my book.With a 300wsm you are hardpressed to achive the 300win ballistics and by chopping 3"-5" off the barrel i think the caliber is handicapped.It is a very nice Bear gun for a ground blind or a tree stand.I havent bought one due to the fact why chance a feeding problem with a caliber that you can achieve the same ballistics with a 24" barrel and smaller caliber.
