Savage 16/116 firing pin doesn’t reset

Forgive me if I use the wrong terminology here. Got a savage 16/116 in 300WM. I swapped the factory stock for a aftermarket McMillian stock. Torqued the action screws down to the recommended specs ( it’s been a little while but I think it was around 40-45 inch pounds). Did some shooting and after I fire a round Sometimes, Not always, the firing pin won’t reset. I have to press the trigger (again) just before the bolt goes all the way back to the rear. I’ll hear a click and there’s a “stop” that’ll pop up which I guess the bolt hits against to reset the firing pin. I tried loosing the action screws and then re torque them to 30” pound but I have the same result. Solutions?

The sear is either rubbing at rear action screw or on right inside of stock. Common with aftermarket stocks. A little material removal and you be having no more issues

Same problem with a mcmillan aftermarket. I.d. the spot that needs relief and take a little off at a time. Used a little black ink to see where my trigger was making contact then scraped a little material then refitted took 3 tries.
