SAVAGE 12 BOLT POLISH JOB

I bought a Savage model 12 LRPV .223 last week. I had a couple 12’s a couple years ago and bought an aftermarket “tactical” bolt handle for one of them. Not that I needed it or shoot “tactical” but it looks cool.
This time around I didn’t feel like spending a hundred dollars for “cool”. I went to the local machine shop store and bought a stick of buffing compound for my 1/2” wide buffing wheel. I got out two grit sizes of sand paper and my Dremel and started smoothing out the investment cast bolt handle. Once the sanding was done I got the buffing wheel and polishing compound and started buffing. I was hoping to get the stainless bolt to look like show chrome. I think I achieved that, and the buffing compound was my only expense at ten dollars.
