Savage 110fcp 338 lapua. Ive got 20rds of ppu down the tube. Loading brass with rel33 and 300gr noslers. Useing several fired cases and same bullet I inserted bullet in case close bolt remove and measure to ogive. I consistantly got 3.981 -3.983. So heres the broad question how far back from that should i start? What are others seating to? I dont really care if it fits mag cause I usually load one at a time anyway.

Just me but I start all of my load development at 0.015" off the lands. That's if I can, though some rifles I can't because I run them from the magwell and am restricted to that length.

Never worked with such large case capacity. Would .5 grain increments be too small on powder charge or should i go with 1 grain increments. Thanks

I would do 1/2 gr. increments but that's just me. Just work up to the max powder charge that is safe for that gun, then drop 10% and start in 1/2 gr increments during load development to find your node.
