Savage 110 elite precision .223

Has anyone tried this rifle in .223 ?
I note it has a 1-7tw and wonder if it is throated for the heavier .224 bullets of 75 grs on up.

My wife has the older Savage 110FP. 24" heavy barrel with 1:9 twist.
Biggest issue is feeding.
Coming out of the magazine, they don't align properly with the chamber.
Accurate enough if you do your part right. (I'm still working on that)

Whomever at Savage that thought a long action would be good for the 223, needs to think again!

Nosler RDF (70gr) i'm loading to 2.420" for 0.030 off the lands.
So, yeah, they are throated kinda long, depending upon bullet weight & ogive.

Whomever at Savage thought a long action would be good for the 223, needs to think again!
