Sartorius Entris balances

Has anyone used the Sattorius Entris 1mg balances?
I have been wanting a good digital balance for a while and there seems to be some good offers on these now.
Thinking of the 150g Entris 153i-1S
Not sure whether internal calibration is needed or not (available here in Europe, not sure about USA).
Thanks

Re: Sartorial Entris balances

I have a Sartorius Entris 64-1S, and I love it. Very quick to settle, very little drift if you let it warm up. Only problem I have had is do you add a kernel or take that kernel out, can be quite maddening!

I too have a Sartorius Entris 64-1S. As Dan says it is very quick to settle and drift is not noticeable. It can be maddening having to figure out if you should add another granule or not. This is not a problem with lesser scales, but then you aren't reading that accurately with them. Bought mine at http://balance.balances.com/scales/569

Thanks for that. Interesting that you both went for the 0.1mg analytical balance rather than the 1.0mg precision option.
The 64 reads one more decimal point so it would be more accurate. Matt

I'm working on a dealership program with them as we speak. Once its final I may be able save you guys more money over some of the scale supply houses you've ordered from.

Having looked into this a bit more and if I understand it correctly:

The 1mg models such as the Entris 153i-1S can measure to approximately +/- 2mg or 0.031 grains, i.e. +/- ~1.0 to ~1.25 kernels of powder (e.g. H4350, 0.025-0.03 gr per kernel) (readability 0.015 gr; linearity 0.031 grains).

The 0.1mg models such as the Entris 64i-1S can measure to approximately +/- 0.2mg or 0.0031 grains, i.e. +/- ~0.1 to ~0.13 kernels of powder (e.g. H4350, 0.025-0.03 gr per kernel) (readability 0.0015 gr; linearity 0.0031 grains). In practice, meaning that you can weigh charges to the nearest kernel or less...

I suppose it could be argued that those capabilities are under expert lab test conditions, whereas the loading room user may not be able to achieve that kind of accuracy. I see one online seller suggesting that the typical user should double the published linearity...

James,

If you put something together for the Sartorius Entris 64-1S, I might be interested (depending on the price).

Thanks!

Thanks,

I have a request in for this model along with the 124-1S
If anyone else has any particular model they want me get them prices on please let me know.

If all goes as plan I can sell you guys the Entris 64-1S for 1000.00 plus shipping. The 124-1S will be 1175.00 plus shipping.

I'm waiting for my dealership account to get setup as we speak, once in place then I can begin placing orders for you guys.

James is there a big difference between the two? I have a birthday coming the 9th and the wife said what ever I want. MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING RIGHT FOR A CHANGE! And what kind of Warranty?

Only capacity (60g v 120g) - both are 0.1mg balances with the same linearity

Joe,

The scales come with a 2 year warranty and the difference between the two is the 64 1s is a 60g model and the 124 1s is a 120g model. Everything else between the two are the same

Dave I hear you but I need one with the wind blocking glass! and I know you are going to say make some. But its my Birthday and I want the 124-1S. The Gem-Pro 250 I was using last week cost me big time. when I got home I pulled bullets and weighed the powder on my Denver 153 and found some were off as much as a tenth of a grain. That doesn't work at a 1000 yards.

Dave I almost went for the Cambridge, I called and got so guy on the phone that was an arrogant SOB when I started asking questions about the scale. so that was the game changer for me. JamesnTN Didn't do that when I called. I like nice people.
