How much of a young mans game is that? I figure 35 is getting to be old for that job.Get a CDL as soon as you can anywhere you can. They have gotten hard to get and that makes or breaks us from hiring linemen. Also these linemen schools are where we hire from. California is hurting for linemen, and we are too here in arkansas
I wouldn`t have wanted to start at 35. The job can be tough, but the newer equipment helps to ease the pain. Climbing a pole is the same now as it was in the beginning. The more fit you stay the better off you will be for a long career. JeffHow much of a young mans game is that? I figure 35 is getting to be old for that job.
By 35 you better be a senior journeyman so you can stay on the ground. A 21yr old can be a very rich man by 40 working for us. 99% of the time our linemen get paid 24/7 time and a half with some doubletime. They work 16, hog out then get paid 8 for rest time then get somebody to call them out again. Very healthy paychecks. They are tough and stay at it. They dont have to work hard but its still work. You better be tough and have thick skin to be a lineman if thats what you want to do. No beta males make it very longHow much of a young mans game is that? I heard from some friends that work for the local co-op here that Pike has went down hill. They ran a new 3 phase line though our farm but never talked to any off the workers.Go to work for Pike electric they train more linemen than any company I know of, but Pike operates in another world from San Fran.
They are legit.well some I guess. My buddy that works for the local co-op his son went to a lineman school spent a lot of time on the road but his first year he made more than $250,000It is for my son. He is 19, tough guy and is a certified welder.
I don't know if the lineman schools are legit or just out there to get my cash. Any suggestions?
Thank you all for your replies.

I don't know the name of the school but a nephew attended it in Boise, ID. He's 23 and already finished a 3-year program with the company he hired with and is making more money than he ever thought he would ever earn.It is for my son. He is 19, tough guy and is a certified welder.
