salvage my ladder?

I load up some 6BRAs with h4895 from 31.2 to 31.4. I take time to color the bullets with magic marker in case I can't see the point of impact. I put targets out at 400 yds. I was able to see the first rounds hit and noted them. Then the sun came out and the mirage was to much to see the hits. I figure I would carry on because I have them colored and it will work out. Guess what, I could only see the red marks. So I fear my 1.5 hour trip 1 way to the range may be waisted. Can anyone pull any info out of my sunny day?

Alcohol on a Q-tip will reveal the color
The Q-tip will have color on it and the color will bleed through the paper once the alcohol dries you will be able to identify the color.

I think I found a node at 30.6 and 31.1. using 205s
thanks for the tip guys it brought out the blue that wasn't there before.
