Sako varminter 6 PPC loads

I have been struggling to get this rifle to sing using a near max load of Vit N133 with 58gr V-Max's. Has anyone got an opinion on this loads and how I could possibly tweak it in order to improve my accuracy needs! By this I mean one hole groups at 100 yards!! :)

Clean , bore scope to check , use a quality 68 or 70 grain flat base bullet . Recheck scope , action screws , crown .

The elusive one hole group. So easy to shoot one on the Internet. So difficult to do it at the range.

Do you have Tony Boyer's book? I would start there.

Can you reach the lands with those bullets? You should be able to get them to shoot great, but doubt you will ever get them to shoot one hole groups. Get some Sierra 70 grain match bullets, or better yet some custom BR bullets. There is a classified right now selling some Hottenstein bullets for a great price. If you can't get those to shoot good something is wrong.

Howdy !

With your commitment to VV133 and the "V"-MAx mentioned; I have more questions..... than answers:

- Have you tried different diam neck bushings ( assumes you bushing neck size brass that has uniform neck wall thickness ) ?

- Have you tried a reasonable variety of primers, w/o otherwise changing the load ?

- Have you tried enough varying seating depths, to be satisfied you're using one that produces the best accuracy ?

Try any load you see on the net with extreme caution! Most are listed being used in very high pressure chambers, in front of custom actions with lapua brass. The 6ppc usa chamber and sako action was not designed for the pressures a normal 6ppc uses.

Thank you all for your responses. I think I will have to go down the route of match grade bullets, despite really wanting a varmit style bullet. The V-Max's have always shot well in my other rifles and imagined they would also in the PPC.

Thanks DLH

This group won a factory class competition at 200 yards vs 60 other factory class shooters

Norma Brass, 58 gr Hornady V-max's, 29gr Hodgdon H322, Fed GM205M primers, 2.165" COL
Shoots <.250" groups, SD 8fps. 3195 fps

This is my go to varmint load on my Sako AI Sporter, the same load shoots equally as well in my AI heavy Barrel.
Need better than that, look at match bullets.
