sako rings

I have a sako A1 in 6 ppc bench gun. What are some of the best scope rings for this receiver. Hope to mount leupold 35 comp on it.

several ways to go with that. my favorite is the leupold sako rings. they have a tapered bottom to match up dovetails, then tighten with screw on side.

next is a redfield base that just slides onto dovetail and tap it on rear to tighten up. i have used these several times and they are great and will never loosen. in fact, when you go to take them off, they can be quite tight. then you can use any dovetail and windage rear rings you want,burris signature the best).

the old style sako rings have awesome blueing, but seem to always leave ring marks and have that big ugly screw on one side.

next step up is the new sako ring/base that is very$$$$$$$$$$, and i have no experience with.

Sako Optilock rings and mounts are definitely the way to go.

Regular ol' Weaver style aluminum base and Burris Signature Zee rings. The AI is a short action and that's a long scope. I don't like a lot of scope hanging unsupported and whenever possible use a base set with an extended front, something that gets the front ring nearer the scope bell.
