Sako rifle question

I’m helping a friend with a rifle and it’s a Sako M995 .270cal. What are his options on base and rings. Is has the dovetail on top of the action and having trouble finding something that will work on it. I have saw the Talley base’s and rings and even though I’m a Talley fan I don’t like the rings that clamp at the top.
Surely there’s something out there that will work on this rifle. Thanks for the help.

Leupold makes a clamp style. I've used them on a Vixen L461 and they worked fine. If he uses a 1" tube scope, the original Sako rings are an option but hard to find and if in decent condition the command a premium price. Assume he doesn't want to drill and tap?

Check Optics Planet for Valdada picatinney scope rail that mounts on Sako dovetail. Expensive but great option!

get a Richard Near Picatinny rail adapter. it is a picatinny rail that he makes that fits over and engages the sake dovetails. Ive been using one on a M995 338lapua for years without any trouble whatsoever.

Where can I find one of these?

It fits on the dovetail and has no need for drilling or tapping. the only issue it had with it was MY FAULT. I tapped it on with a rubber mallet and got too aggressive. Something wasn't right so a called Richard and he told me i over did it. I said I was afraid it would move and i wanted it tight. He told me to take the rail of and squeeze it back to where it was and use some marine Tex to glue it in place and if I ever needed to remove it just use a heat gun to soften the epoxy. So I added the marine Tex and it has been on for at least 16 or 17 years. recoil pushes it back on the Sako rails so there was no need for me to get all concerned, but hey thats the hillbilly way. When installed it looks like it was made with a picatinny rail.

I know they are out there. I put a 30mm tube on my Sako and it wasn't the clamp-on style. I want to say they were made by Leupold.
