Sako M 75

I have a chance to purchase a Sako M 75 SS 6mm PPC USA. I noticed in pictures that it has a different looking bolt shroud than the A1 model as well as a 3 lug bolt. Was wondering if any of you people could give me any info on this rifle as well and if it has an adjustable trigger or not. Any Info on this model rifle good and bad would be welcome. TKS

It's a Sako 75 III action. They are very good but considerably different to the earlier equivalent L579 / A2 models.

In the earlier years the PPCs were run in the short action L461 and the A1. When they got to 75 the PPCs were run in the medium length action using a special 6ppc mag which has the back section blanked off. Very had to find a spare 6ppc mag.

In the 75 the I action does all the 223, 222 etc and they were going to do a II action for the PPC and 7.62x39 etc but never eventuated so it was pushed up into the III length action with a spacer added to the mag.

3 lug bolt. Detachable flush mag that can also be loaded while inserted in the gun. Adjustable trigger. They also had optional single set triggers that can adjust down to a few oz.

In my opinion the 75 is the best Sako made. I have a 75 6ppc stainless varmint and it shoots very well. If your reloading use sako or Norma brass which is suited to the "USA" chamber.

I hunt with a Sako 75 .260 Rem and have since it was on a closeout sale in 2007. It has become my absolute favorite hunting rifle. It feeds like it has eyes. The magazine can be top-loaded. It also is the most accurate factory rifle I own.

To your questions, yes the trigger is adjustable. The 75 is a fine trigger. The 75 and 85 use the same magazine.

Built a 308 match rifle around one decades ago. Found a bare action in the lgs and the rest is history. Had 4 barrels on it and no issues. You will enjoy it.

I know you can't fit a 75 mag in an 85. Tried using a 75 PPC mag in an 85 to make a 6BR and it was too wide.
