A good friend of mine just dropped off a brand new, never fired Sako III in .308. The catalog calls it a Sako 85 Varmint stainless laminated stock. He topped it with a Swarovski Z-3, 4-12x50. He asked me to break the bbl. in and start working up some deer loads for 200 yd. zero to shoot dead on to 300 yds. I noticed the catalog says the bbl. is 1-11 instead of 1-10. I don't anticipate him shooting anything above 180 gr.,probably not above 168 gr. so I don't think the rate/twist differance is going to affect much if anything. What is the latest/greatest bbl. break-in procedures or are the Sako bbls. so smooth that it isn't necessary? This is the first time I've had a chance to work with a BRAND NEW Sako. Any advice, suggestions or pitfall warnings will be appreciated. If anyone has a load that seems to work especially well in a 1-11 Sako bbl. that info will also be greatly appreciated. He's on a weekend vacation in Charleston,S.C. and I'm at home messing with his (our, he just don't know it yet) weapons.......Ain't life great!!! Thanks ya'll,Paul
