Sako Headstamp brass

The sako brass I have used was 30-06 and it was good brass. Some covet it for whatever reason.I listed 6 ppc made from .220 russian and it sold in minutes.

My experiences have been positive with Sako head-stamped 220 Russian brass. However, I have not used 223 Rem.

No experience with that caliber, but had a case of SAKO made 22PPC at one time. The boxes inside the case were marked SAKO 22PPC USA. The box containing the the ammo was labeled, made by Federal Cartridge Co.

OH NO... Its very dangerous stuff. Please PM for an address to send it too. Ill despose of it so that no one gets ahold of it....
Just doing what I can for the sport....

Sako .223 brass has been just fine for me, though the loaded ammo that produced it was a bit humorous. The Sako .223 (55gr soft points) factory ammo shot 5/8" groups at 100 yards with an out of the box Remington 700 BDL varmint special, but the primers were anywhere from normal to cratered to perforated (2 perforated out of 1 boxes of 20, 3 out of the other)! That was before I had a chronograph, so I don't know how the velocity was behaving. Still have the brass and still load it when I need a small lot for special purposes - at this point it's over 30 years old, but only has about 5 reloadings on it.

I have shot many rounds of Sako brass (think its Norma made) in a 6PPC I sold last year and never had any problem with it.

I have about 8 or so empty boxes of it reloaded various times for sale, if anyone wants it, PM me.

Thanks for the replies. The reason I am asking is my local Cabelas has Sako .223 50gr FMJ ammo on clearance from $120 per 100 marked down to $59. I don't typically have a need for FMJ ammo other than plinking with kids, but I thought the brass looked very nice. It is clearly marked on the box that the ammo is made in Finland. Sounds like a good deal,
Scott

Er..!!!

You are talking about FMJ Ammo marked "Made in Finland" and that might be well correct but who makes the actual cartridge cases.

I have several boxes of Sako Unprimed .243W Cases and I will say it has been prepped, it's within 0.1gr of each case, the necks have been de-burred inside and out plus the primer flash holes have been deburred. Nice annealing marks and looks very much like some Nosler .204R Custom Competition Cases I have that I know are made by Norma.

I would say be it Norma, Sako or even Lapua as the manufacturer it looks like good brass. Time will tell.
