Sako A11

I have a sako A111 that has no scope mount threaded holes just the tapered dove tails. It's a long action started as a 270.
I want to put a one piece steal base on it for weaver type rings.
Any one know who makes them or have any ideas I could drill and tap it but not sure I want to alter it.
Any help is appreciated.

US Optics made a base that bolted onto a 11mm dovetail. WTC has done these, but they may want your rifle.

If this is a hunting rig, not a dedicated prone rifle, look at some of the small bore accessories. Very well made units that will go onto international dovetails. Kelby may have something as well.

I don't think it would be as much trouble if they weren't tapered dove tails at about .475 at back and .725 at front. Thanks you I'll check out Kelby's

If it is a " Deluxe " model, a drill & tap will kill value. A very effective way of doing this is to pick up factory dovetail bases & attach rail to them but scope can't be mounted very low. The factory dovetail setup is a great system but it does have it's shortcomings. On the plus side, it is adjustable for windage if you are willing to take the time.

Are you telling me I could get say some tally bases or the weaver bases for it and attach a rail to them?

Yes but Don't do the weaver mistake ( the aluminum will spread ). Use a side retention system similar to attaching to picatinny rail. If you retain from a top set screw you won't get access to it without disassembling everything ( will also mar the checkering on the top of the dovetail ).
