Sako 85 classic 300 win mag

I recently got a sako 300 win mag and am in search of optimal powder and bullet weight to reload . It had a 1:11 twist 24 1/2 barrel any help would be appreciated.

With the 11 twist it should shoot 180 to 210 Bergers pretty good. I am not sure of what powder to use in a 300 WIN. Matt

I'm thinking maybe vv 165 or h1000... Think the 168 Berger hunting vlds prolly do pretty good. Looking for input as to bullet seating distance or touching as I've never loaded for 300 fine done a lot for 243ai.204,22-250

Try H-4831 SC. works great

The 168 would shoot good but probably be a poor hunting bullet. It would likely really come apart at 300 Win. MAG velocities especially at close range. Matt

Nosler 180 partition or 165 gr hornady or 165 nosler ballistic tip, depends on the game. H4831 has been ver accurate for me.
