Safety on Savage action

I have a .260 Remington, Savage action, with a Rifle Basix trigger (4 oz pull).....this is my BR rifle......the safety is not working correctly, and with such a light pull, it makes me a little nervous ;D. The safety engages, but the switch on top does not have any feel to it....it just free-floats. If you set the rifle down on a table several times, it creeps and will sometimes actually move to the fire position. A couple of times I have set the rifle down and the trigger engages on its own. It feels like a spring is missing or something. Do I need to look at Savage or Rifle Basix?

Thanks!

A pin is missing. Detent spring is a wave spring attached to the safety slider, which engages a pin inserted thru the trigger bracket.

Part 2D is the pin. When assembled correctly the pin is between the safety slider and the spring. This pin is free floating and can fall out when the slider is not in the bracket.
