Just got some sad news of the passing of a good friend & forum member fdshuster. He will be sorely missed by many. A great man with a lot of knowledge . It was a privilege for me to know him. R.I.P. Frank

I PM'd Frank many times asking him about .222 GH loads, and he would seek my advice on PPC loads and bench shooting. IIRC he was a retired airline pilot. Sad day for sure.

Met Frank in 2010 when I was just getting my feet wet in competitive shooting. I learned a ton of info from the man! A super great person and he will be missed!

My condolences to his Family and friends..........

I truly enjoyed talking with him on many different occasions.....

Phil.

I have had deals with him and spoke with him on the phone several times, he will be missed so much. It is sad to hear and what a fine fella he was.

I had the pleasure of knowing and shooting with Mr. Schuster at my area ranges.. He was the utmost, down to earth person that you would ever want to meet at the range.. I'll miss his knowledgeable posts, e-mails, a friend, and the range is certainly not going to be the same without his smile that you showed up..

Although I did not know him personally, I enjoyed reading fd's posts and he was a recognised personality to me. Love and respect to his family, and may he watch over all he cared about.

Very sad news. Many PMs with Frank. Very generous with his knowledge and giving his time relating it. A major asset to our sport. He helped me immensely as a shooter. We were both also commercial pilots and PM that topic as well.

I am sure he would want me to share. He flew the same Lockhead JetStar used in the James Bond movie Gold Finger. Purchased after the movie was shot by a company he was flying for. Great memories, he was generous there as well. Frank flew all the best corporate jets.

Frank also educated me on his two preferred cartridges. The 308 and 6BR. He spent quite a bit of time explaining to me how to build a good shooting rifle.

Very sorry I never met him. I am going to add Frank and his family to my prayers for many nights to come.

Never met Frank in person, but we talked on the phone once and e-mailed frequently. He shot regularly in the western PA groundhog matches. Never could convince him to travel east. Extremely knowlegable May he rest in peace.

Anyone know how old he was?

I met him twice, conversed with him on private messages, and we had some VERY good friends in common. Frank was a straight shooter, had a lot of good knowledge and a heck of a good fellow to have in the shooting sports. May he rest in peace and prayers for comfort for his family and friends that were closer to him than I was. Gonna miss him and some of the others that have passed since last shooting season. :( WD

That is very saddening about his passing. We have lost a wealth of shooting knowledge in Frank. God please comfort his family. RIP

I shot on the same pistol team (bulls eye) with Frank in the late 70's up to the mid 80's at the Dormont Mt. Lebanon gun club in Western PA. He was a real gentlemen, very knowledgeable, and always willing to help fellow competitors. I moved away in the late eighties and reconnected with him via this web site.

This was sad news indeed.
