Sloughhouse BR Shooters held a 1 day unregistered (Conflict with NBRSA Nats) 100 yard LV/HV group match yesterday.
We had a light turnout with the threat of a rainstorm blowing through, but 5 intrepid souls decided to brave the conditions and were rewarded with some surprisingly mild conditions. We had our usual switchy tailwind that the Ione Triangle is famous for, milder than usual but with enough to keep your attention. Mostly out of the SE, and the conditions would usually hold long enough to get a group off. We had 2 shooters that shot 30 BR's and 3 with 6 PPC's.
Results as follows:
100 YD LV
1st: Steve Epstein @ .2134 including 4 out of 5 Small Groups shooting his Bat 6PPC w/Ezell Tuner equipped Krieger bbl.
2nd: Greg Wilson @ .2692 with the Small Group of the yardage (.154) with his 88 Vintage Teddy, Ezell Tuner, Krieger 30BR bbl.
3rd: George Palms @ .3780 shooting a 6PPC
4th: Roy Luchini @ .3884 shooting a 6PPC
5th: Jeff Rodriguez @ .4108 shooting another 88 vintage Teddy in 30BR. (Got to get a tuner on it for you Jeff!)
100 YD HV
1st: Greg Wilson @ .2524 with 2 Small Groups a .189 and the Small Group of the yardage at .147 shooting his trusty 30BR.
2nd: Steve Epstein @ .2620 with a nice .191 for the only other group in the 1's in the HV agg.
3rd: George Palms @ .3452
4th: Roy Luchini @ .3484 had the other 2 small groups coming on strong in Match 4 & 5 with identical .247's
5th: Jeff Rodriguez @ .4142
100 YD 10 TGT Aggregate
1st: Steve Epstein @ .2377
2nd: Greg Wilson @ .2608
3rd: George Palms @ .3616
4th: Roy Luchini @ .3684
5th: Jeff Rodriguez @ .4125
Thanks to Steve for being Target Crew, and Bill Costanza for coming out to help even though he couldn't shoot do to recent hand surgery, also to the shooters who came out to support the match and everyone for helping with the frames etc.
On another note the E-Backers worked flawlessly, unfortunately the NBRSA powers that be have decided to disallow them going forward after allowing them on a 1 year trial basis this year. Apparently they feel they are not as accurate as the "flawless" paper moving backer system, (tongue firmly in cheek) so we will not be shooting NBRSA registered matches going forward.
We just want to shoot and enjoy each others company with as little effort in setup and maintenance as possible.
We are willing to accept the 99.97% accuracy (2 years of data) and will deal with the occasional missed or "ghost" shot as the participants agree and the MD & referees so rule.
By the way just an FYI for the Dinasaurs: that large ball of fire coming at you out of the sky is your future extinction! Just saying...
Rant over, hope to see everyone in December at the last CF match of the year it will be a Chabot Special.
