SAC bushing qiestion

How do I adjust the SAC modular bushing to size the neck further down? Currently it just sizes barely past the neck opening.

I have the same issue. I was using the Redding bushing die and tried the SAC. My 6PPC chamber is tight and the O.D. on a loaded case can not exceed .261" I need a bushing to size the neck to a .256 so SAC has to custom a make a bushing (I think they charge $80). If you call them, their customer service is knowledgeable and courteous.

They have a video on die setup and adjustment on their website. They made 2 different dies, the first one uses traditional style bushings, the second version using bushings that has the shoulder angle cut into the bushing. You may want to make sure you have the right style bushing for the right die.

Stack another bushing on top and thread your die top down to where it will work for you. If, after that, your de-caping rod won't work, buy a de-caping die.

Regards
Rick
The decapping rod does its job. The neck doesn't move far enough into the neck bushing.

Maybe I'm not understanding your comment.

It is the correct die/bushing combo. I will call them today.

you put the washers that came with the die on top of the bushing. there .001, so you should have 4 of them in a bag. you can move the bushing down by .004. you need to tighten the nut on top good to squeeze the collar around the de-cap pin and hold it all tight.

I do have the bushings for their modular sizing die. All my brass, whether reforming 220 Russian to 6PPC or the Alpha, need to have the neck walls thinned, prior to sizing. The expander mandrel needs to allow the neck walls to be thinned. The smallest bushing from SAC is a .258 which doesn't give the neck tension enough to to grip the bullet.
