SAAMI 6 BR free bore ??

Does anyone know what the free bore specs are for a SAMMI spec 6 BR ? chamber ?? And possibility
how that would relate to 6MM bullets ??

There are two types of 6mm BR one is for light bullets such as about 70 gr and one for the heavy bullets about 105 gr. Light bullets use slower twist and short throats, heavy bullets slow twist long throat. They are very different guns but can use the same brass. Then there is the 6mm BR Rem, shorter neck mostly for the light bullets. What are you looking to build, what purpose and what bullet?

There is a member, who seams to sell a lot of new X caliber barrels in the classifieds , One being a 6 BR, I asked him what free bore it had, or if it was chambered for any specific bullet, never got an answer, other that the chamber is SAAMI spec.

I would want to know the throat length in inch length, such as .1XX" for heavy bullets and the twist rate. Also who chambered it? May ask what reamer was used so you can search the dimensions for the chamber. You could just order your own barrel from X-Caliber and have it chambered the way you want. PTG and JGS will send you their reamer drawings.

Almost nobody chambers the 6 BR Remington anymore. The brass is enough different that most guys will run into trouble trying to use one, in the other. Most everybody uses the 6 BR Norma chamber and buys Lapua brass. That is the route you want to go. If he cant give you an answer i would buy where i get a definate answer. Read the 6 BR cartridge guide on the main page. Matt
