SA REMINGTON BOLT/BUSHING JOB

I sent a sa remmy bolt to GreTan rifle's on wednesday of the week before last and got it back on friday of this week.He recieved it on friday of that week and had it in the mail last week all done.He removed a shottely done bushing that was soft and replaced with a hardened bushing and cleaned the face up like a mirror.I cant say enough about Greg but that he was a sincere ,gentleman and only charged me 92.00 for everything including the return shipping.I would advise anyone needing this done to go to him for such a wonderful experience.I want to promote him here as a tribute to a fine craftsman.

I find myself not understanding your post here. Are you speaking of bushing the firing pin or bushing the bolt body?

The Rem 700 bolts, as far as I know, are not very hard, so I am not sure why a non-hardened bushing was a problem. Is it just that the prior bushing job was bad and the fact that Greg used a hardened bushing is just an extra plus?

The bolt body. I was just giving hom an atta boy for such a fast and nice job he did.I didnt think I was vague but evidently I was,sorry for the misunderstanding.

Got it now. When you first said he cleaned the "face" up like a mirror, it sounded like you were talking about the bolt face so I was thinking maybe bushing the firing pin, but was not sure.

I bought a SA Remington on here from member "baily" that had gone thru Gregs shop and had all the bells and whistles done to it. I tell you, anytime someone asks me where to send a Remington it is just plain automatic Gre-Tan is the immediate answer. Great work.
