They will decimate a corn field and I wrote this before I looked at the video. They are pests.
Most areas in South Africa where they proliferate no longer have any natural predators.

Most people don’t understand this kind of work. Think of it this way - you are a farmer, who has borrowed thousands of dollars to finance a crop with the hopes of making a living. Your hands are skinned up from working on equipment, your skin is burnt from the sun, and you are praying for a good season. And a herd of some animals (monkeys in this case) come in and destroy your hard work and your hopes of making a living. At this point you are fighting a war to save your very livelyhood - and you do what it takes to stay alive, just as if a thief has entered your home. You do what it takes to survive. I’d go shoot them in a skinny minute.

Had a friend in SA his family has/had a big ranch. He told me the baboons killed more lambs than all the other predators combined. They drove around and shot them with .22's.

My second trip to Africa was to RSA for Plains Game. We spent a day at my PH's farm shooting them. We bagged about 50 of them. The next day, driving out from the farmhouse you could not tell we had killed a single one from the Monkey crowds in the Maize field.

It's not hunting. It's Monkey smoking pure and simple, getting as many as possible, pest elimination.
