S&W M&P15 AR "Sport" question

Is the flashhider on the current S&W M&P15 Sport model permanently mounted, or can it be removed if needed?

I was asked this question today and could not find whether it can be removed or not.

Key Words-
Pre-Ban= removable
Look to see if there is a peel/laminate washer installed between Fhider/barrel
Post-Ban= non-removable(req machining)
Look to see if Fhider is pinned/welded/blended on underside(6O'clock)
