S&W K 38 14-2 Target Masterpiece help.

I picked this gun up a few years ago. It’s in great shape but it’s been altered. It only shoots double action. The single action function has been removed or altered. While I have enjoyed shooting it, I would like to put it back to original condition, if possible.
Anybody out there that can help me?
The best I can find online to date the gun is 1961-67, by serial number. 10K10xxx. 14-2.

That looks like one of the LAPD DAO conversions from the 70s. You'll need a hammer, the spur was left intact to work with retention on the holsters.

Not a hard job, R&R hammer.

Here is my M28-2 with* all the parts.

A new hammer and trigger will fix you up.
The back of the trigger has been rounded too much to catch the Single action notch in the hammer. It also looks like the hammer has been rounded off also

you’ll need the hammer and the rebounding slide , if I remember correctly.
E bay has some listed now . Id get the trigger also and I prefer the target hammer and trigger. The wide parts really help with old hands

I'm also interested in this project Josh. I've got a nice 64-6 with a bobbed hammer and no full cock notch. I'd be interested in comparing notes with ya. jd
