S&S Super Shoot in Texas

Gold $$ Contributor
Guys its fast approaching September 12. The first S&S Super shoot. Please tell your fiends and who ever about this shoot. Lets make it succesful and fun. The format will be Trap Targets big and small at 500 yards. Just some small things to work out but if more info is needed please email me here or at lscohen@gowebway.com for info.
Thanks Lew and Stick

I do not see anything on tiger valley's website. I'm new to competitive shooting, and would like to know how to do this shoot. I think I remember reading that I needed to bring my own bench, and that anything 30 cal and under could shoot in it.

Is it for score? I'm just trying to get a good feel for the format.

I copied this from SnipersHide

Troops,
Here is the signup sheet for the shoot I promised. Please print and send into TJ. Any questions please email me and please send my your email so I can creat a database for emails and stuff about the shoot. Thanks, Lew

Got in a little practice time this morning. Justin and I went to our range to adjust scopes from 400 to 500 yds. I afraid my hits on mini clays may be lower then normal. That extra 100 yds makes a big difference.
Anyone else getting any practice time in?
Who's going to the match?
We need a good turnout at this match so we can keep it going in the future.

I signed up already, can't wait. I have a heck of a 300 yard load for my 6.5-284 that I have to test at 500, hope it works. See you guys there!

1st, I'm planning on signing up. Got the form all filled out, just waiting on the wife to leave the check book at home one day so 1 check can accidentally come up missing. :-)

2nd, Can anyone tell me the way the points are given? Like 5 points for a big target 10 points for a small one? What holds the clays up? can you tell if you miss them by 1/4 inch left versus right? Is there a time limit per relay? Are there any write ups on this site that I can read about it? I searched for Lone Star, but all I got was registration info, and info on the shoot in April.

3rd, I did practice today, and I sure hope my guns shoots as good on Sept 12th as it did today. Cause if it does, I won't make an absolute fool of myself.

Tim,
How's poor Timmy's stomach feeling today? You missed playing with the suppressors yesterday. That extra 100 yds does make a difference.
Call you later.

No you can't see your misses. There is usually a shoot-n-see at the bottom of the target board you can use to shoot sighters. But those sighters come out of your 10 rounds. Targets are usually held on with rubber bands.

here is a sample target from Utopia..Remember this is for a 400yd match..S&S is putting on a 500yd match. I'm sure the targets will be different. Anyhow this may give ya some ideas of what to expect. BTW the Midi's are missing in the middle.

That pic of the target really gives me a better understanding. Since I have never done anything like this, it's going to be tougher than I thought.

Does anyone know what the point factors are for this shoot?

Standard Clay,Biggest) - 10 pts.
Midi,medium) - 20 pts.
Mini,smallest) - 30 pts.

I have no idea what Lew and Stick have in mind for the match.

well, called TJ today, and he got my check. He said we needed more shooters.... so I'm trying to do my part, and I talked my dad into shooting too.

Sorry for the delay. We were at the varmint ghunters shoot in South Dakota. The targets will be like the ones shown scoring will be similar to what we are used to. You will be humbled in the format. Any questions email me and talk it wup to your friends. Thanks, Lew

Lew
Where are ya at with the match? Did ya decide on a target and how many rounds per realy? and total numnber of relays?

Cockcroft and I where talking about this match and wondered where it ended up.

thanks
-tim b.

We are going to shoot the clay targets. Points will be very close to what is posted here. You won't be disappointed.10 rounds per relay. unlimited sighters in the sightin period. 5 relays 8 birds per..
Lew

Lew,

Any weather concerns, or should we be alright?

Also, are there enough spots that if someone has not registered yet, they can still show up and get in?
