S.H.O.T. Show.....Here we go again, promises, promises!

Well here comes the SHOT Show again and you know what every year I get more ticked off at the manufacturers who show us the new toys, make promises about availability, then don't deliver.
Nightforce is a case in point. I was really psyched up about the new adjustment knobs on the NXS scopes. I wasn't going to wait for the promised available retro-fit I was just going to buy a new scope as soon as they became available rather than wait to retro-fit my current NXS. Well here we are a year later and they still are not available!
I hope someone who attends this year will tell Nightforce and the others like them don't make promises you can't keep.

Ruger is a classic for that kind of stuff,they tease us with a design and it tales up to 2 years to get one.The gun writers get them before release but us pieons have to wait till they are good and ready to release them.

Why let yourself get psyched or teased when you know, through experience, that somethings just take time to materialize. I never expect a product to be available, for at least a year, after the announcements.

And then, I let others shake down the equipment for bugs and the inevitable manufacturers mods before I do any purchasing. Being patient is the name of this game.

i got mine in november, 2 or 3 weeks after i ordered them.

Dreever might be referring to the 1/8 MOA clicks on the NXS.

Yep, the 1/8 MOA clicks for one, and the high speed turrets on anything other than the 5.5-22.

Create the demand...
Charge more than the customer can reasonably afford.
Make them wait.
Then don't deliver....

You know, you guys are absolutely right. So I think I'll just revolt and say "Screw it, I really don't need one that bad and you can keep it!" I'll just save the money I was about to spend on the upgrade and maybe spend it somewhere else. In fact maybe I'll spend it on something other than a shooting related product altogether.

I wonder if they show stuff just to see how popular it would be, kind of to test the waters. They can see at the show just how many orders from dealers they get, and then afterwards how many more orders come in before they really decide to build it or not? Then if not enough come in they just forget about it.

Been waiting on the Stiller 25x rimfire repeater forever. Was supposed to be the summer 09, then summer 2010, then December 2010 now its summer 2011. >>MAYBE<< Looks like I'm gonna go with the Falcon repeater.
