S&B PMII P4 reticle

I've managed to acquire an Schmidt&Bender PMII 5-25x56, which is sitting at a friend's house pending my return home from an overseas deployment - so have only seen photos of the scope and reticle. I'm hoping someone can cast some light on the thickness of the P4 reticle.

The reticle is in the first focal plane, reticle expands as the magnification is cranked up - but the mil ranging feature remains useable). The reticle appears very fine but 'busy',with mil-stadia lines) at 5x and very thick at 25x.

I have a vague idea that the center cross-hair reticle width subtends approximately .06/.07mil at 100m,6-7mm), so at 1000m, this would mean, er, 60-70cm, which would go a fair way to obsuring the width of man-sized target.

Does anyone know the actual width of the P4 reticle, or be able to point me to someonw who does?

Regards

Justin

hi justin

the guy you need to speak to is pete lincoln. his email address is "roedalerifles, put the at symbol thingy in here)yahoo.de"

he knows more about these scopes than S&B do pretty much. i have bought 2 S&B's from him and he is a great guy to deal with. he could also organise a reticle change for you if you didn't want the bryant P4 one. i have a 4-16pm2 coming with 1/4 moa clicks and a klein milldot ret which is a lot finer than the p4 or ordinary milldot.

anyway, enough blether, pete is your man i reckon.

cheers
