RVO Powders...

ISS

We got a new refrigerator several years ago. The old one got the power cord cut, and it moved into the garage as a powder storage unit.
Does anyone have new information regarding those powder burn rates?

RVO-62, 7383.
WC 844 and others. I need to take a tablet out and log them all. That, if the temperature climbs above freezing!
I even found 4 one pound jugs of Varget with $12.95 stickers on it! Same number of Tite Group, & MP5744, same price.

All told, there are 23 8lb jugs of various powders out there.

These days it's like hitting the Lottery with powder prices and availability...

Wc844 is comparable to h335. I've used it in my 223 and 20p. Finishing it up. Bought for $60/8lb in 2002 or 2003

I remember now, it was 223 pulldown. They also had the 308, WC848 (?).

thanks,

Used a lot of that 844 in 223 and 20P, started with H335 starting data and everything was so close u thought it was H335.

RVO 62(River Valley Ordnance) is slow stuff
I'd be willing to bet it is the same stuff as WC-862
I've used it in my 6x284
I'd have to double check but may have a sheet of paper for it showing some load data
It is very slow powder, like 8700 or 50 BMG
I would take 10 -12 grains more of RVO62 than H1000 to get the same results in my 6x284
It was accurate powder though
Would be great for a 7 Mag or 300 WinMag

ELR,

I have two 8lb kegs of the 62. I used it in my 257 Banshee, which is about like a 25-300WM minus the belt.
Let me know if you find any load data for your 6-284. I think I have an 8lb keg of all of their powders. Seems like they bought a lot of that pull down powder the fedguv sold. $64 shipped for the 8's.

thanks,

ISS

Found RVO load data sheets for 57 and 62
I would very much presume they are the same or similar enough.... as current WC-57 and WC-62

Found my old load for RVO 62 in a 6x284 using SMK 107's
66.5 grains w/ F215 Primer (I must add this is with a somewhat worn throat so more like 62.0 starting load if chamber is fresh

Current load using WC-57 in 6x284 is
54.0 grains with F210 primer and pushing 115 DTACS
Fresh New Chamber... Fps is approx 3420 fps
