I picked up off a buddy a LNIB Ruger 77/22 all weather stainless with the tupperware stock. I'm not to fond of the older style sunk in butt stock ruger synthetic stocks and was wonder where I could buy an aftermarket stock for it?

Thanks Hillbilly

Try putting a post on rimfire central they know everything about a ruger. I saw that midway carries some wood and laminate stocks they shouldn't be hard to find good luck.

Stocks stocks in florida I believe. They have stocks for almost everything.Their price's are good.Their service is real good too.

I put my Ruger 77/22 Stainless Synthetic Barreled Action into a Volquartsen Laminated Wood Stock. The first thing is little piece that is pinned to your receiver that needs to be removed before you can fit it into a wood stock. Next you need a Trigger Guard, Magazine Well and Screws for a wood stocked 77/22 to complete the conversion. On mine I bought the bottom metal for a Ruger K77/22VBZ as that was the only way to get it in stainless steel. I then buffed off the target grey finish and polished it so it was bright stainless steel like the barreled action. If I remember right I ordered all the parts I needed for the conversion from Brownells.

The Volquartsen Laminated Wood Stock comes with an enlarged barrel channel for a .920" Bull Barrel. That was fine with my as I put a Clark Custom Guns 20" Stainless Steel Bull Barrel on my receiver when I did the conversion.

Take a look at www.rifle-stocks.com (Richards Microfit Stocks). The business is under new ownership and USED to have a reputration for taking forever to make a stock. I ordered one three months ago for my Savage .22 and it was at my doorstep 20 days after I placed the order. Their stocks are unfinished and about 95% inletted and are really beautiful for the money. And they'll do any speciality mods per your request since they make the stocks specifically to your order. Probably not as nice as Larry Volquartsen, but then your rifle doesn't appear to be Match Grade quality either.

Thanks for the in put guys! SDhandgunner could I git the info off you for the custom barrel please?
