Ruger Precision Rifle sling - Need advice please.

Hello,

I'm brand spanking new to this forum so please forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong area. I looked all over and it was not obvious where to ask a question about slings.. *Shrug*

I have a Ruger Precision Rifle that I am taking to a 3 day marksmanship course in Colorado in April and one of the requirements for the course is that I have a sling on my rifle since we'll be moving around to different shooting locations within the course.

I don't have the foggiest idea what kind of sling to use, despite researching for hours and hours on the Google. Do any of you have any experience or suggestions? It appears that there are multiple types of slings (I was previously only aware of the 2 point slings that were on my deer rifle.

I am truly grateful for any assistance or wisdom that you experts can impart to this novice. Many Thanks

Josh

Since this is a Marksmanship course and they probably intend to teach you how to use a sling to enhance your marksmanship vs using it to carry to the rifle while kicking in doors.. I would go with some sort of national match sling, be it a basic military style web sling, or even a 1907 style sling. Given that you're bringing a RPR, it doesn't sound like a run and gun sort of scenario such as 3 gun where you're rapidly banging close in steel targets so those tacticool slings folks might use with AR carbines might not be the best choice.

Perhaps if you actually link to the event you are talking about someone in the know might be able make a more informed suggestion.
