I wish I still had my Ruger No. 1 and my Browning Rolling Block with the Octagon Barrel.

I have 3 Rolling blocks, a 22RF, a 32-20, and a 45-70. 2 have octagon barrels. I just love 'em.

Bet it shoots well. I had one in 7STW, but it was mediocre.

With the octagon barrel and a 20 x Unertl scope on it, it looked a little like an old Long Range Sharps Buffalo gun.

Just have a local Smith drill an tap for the quarter rib.

Thanks. Now if I can find a local Smith I can trust... I guess maybe just a good machinist would work. Last local gunsmith I used cracked the rear bridge on a 1903 Springfield while tapping for scope. Not one of the brittle recievers either.
