Ruger M77 stock?

Original or aftermarket?

Found this heavy barrel 25-06 in my father-in-laws kitchen drop ceiling.
Family believes it was his first ground hog gun. Manufacture date of 1984-5.

This^^^^. Definitely not an original Ruger stock. I have the tang style ( wooden) and Mark II (laminate) and have never seen one like that. Like the tip on the forearm too. Adds a little to it.

Old Fajen Rienhart stock. I love those old stocks and those rugers! That would be a sweet rifle to own! Let me know if it ever goes up for sale!
Thanks for the information.
He passed away last week at the age of 88 and hasn’t hunted for many years.
New to forum but I’ve utilized 6mmbr page for many years.

I agree, sure looks alot like the Fajen stock my father had on a Rem. 721 in .270. His was stamped "Fajen" in barrel channel and under buttplate. Great looking gun sir. Jeff

Thank you Jeff. Looked in barrel channel but appears that he bedded the action. Don’t have the heart to remove the butt plate. He was an avid reader and subscribed to Precision Shooting magazine for years.
New to forum and having a hard time following.

That’s a really good bedding job with the old Acraglas! That stuff was a nightmare to work with. So hard to keep the bubble voids out
