Ruger M77 Hawkeye question.

I have heard a ( rumor ) going around that the new Hawkeyes are having major quality control problems. The reason I ask is that I have been wanting a sporter weight rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor. Does anyone know is there is any truth to this rumor??? Also, would it be possible to build one on a Rem 700 DBM, 308 Winchester...???

I don't think the new Hawkeyes have any issues. I have had three of them with zero issues and sold quite a few that were all shooters, including one 6.5 Creedmoor.

The triggers stink and a bedding job is needed but the gun will shoot with some tinkering.

I played with two hawkeye's, a co-worker's and my brother's. Neither shoot under 2" with reloads or factories. My brother is sending his back to Ruger, because it's not hitting the center of the primer, it's way off center about 6 o'clock position and his best 3 shot group is about 3". Hawkeye's are no where near as nice as the Original M77's. :(

I would love to see some shot targets.

This was the best group from the gun.

Its consistent at 1.5"

HS stock and Timney trigger, but its the factory barrel.

me and some buddys bought four of them 358 win trimmed the case down to 1.800 to meet indiana silly gun law,we are moving 200 grain ftx at 2600fps all right around 1moa with same load of r-7,i agree they need a bedding job, sure beats a 44 mag.

I have a Ruger M77 Hawkeye Long Range Target in 6.5PRC.
I tried Hornady Pro Hunter 143 ELDX and it shot 3/4” groups with factory ammo.
I pulled the Ruger Brake and installed an EC Tuner Brake and with my handloads it’s consistent 1/4” groups or smaller.
