Looking at getting my grandson an AR for Christmas. He likes the Ruger but, doesn't like the sights. I see(?) the rear sight can be removed. What about the front sight, can it be removed? Chased several articles on the rifle but none mention anything about sight removal.
 
Are you talking about the direct impingement or the piston model? Assume you mean the DI model. That is the gas block, so you would need to add a gas block if you do remove it. Why would you want to? I don't even see mine in the scope.
