Ruger american\precision barrels

Does anyone know for certain if the barrels and nuts for the ruger american and ruger precision rifles are the same?
I was under the impression that they use the same receiver but I was looking at a barrel makers website stating there is 0.001" difference in the barrel tenon.

Yes I have a factory 5.56 Ruger precision rifle barrel on my Ruger American ranch. I turned the shoulder down to the barrel diameter on the lathe and used a PVA barrel nut, shoots great!

Cool, that's what I was hoping for. Thinking of one of the Americans in 223 that uses AR mags but at some point set it up like a tube gun with an ar handguard
