ruger 77 compact

I have one of these rifles in 7-08 shooting Federal 140 accubond.Groups around 1" Wondering if anyone else out there has one and if theres a good accuracy load for the short 16.5 barrell.Also curious as to what kind of game you may have taken with that rifle.

Glenn I have an Encore in 7-08. I am using 140gr Accubonds with Varget and CCI primers. Nice round groups slightly smaller than an inch at 100 yards.

I have killed several whitetail and a slew of hogs with this combo. The accubond has given 100% penetration everytime. None of the whitetails has even run. Most of the pigs have just gone stifflegged and fallen over.

The 7-08 is underated as a hunting cartridge in my opinion.

I have been looking at the 7-08 for my wife. I have nothing to say but positive things about the AccuBond. They are accurate and have excellent penetration. I have shot 3 deer and a hog in the last two years with them and they have performed admirably.

I have a Ruger compact in .223 remmy. so far I have not had a night off to bag some yotes, but with a good handload I'm getting a .250" 3 shot group at 100 yards
