Ruger 22-250 Varmit SS and Blued

I have a Ruger 22-250 HVY BL Varmit that I purchased new in about 1995.
The gun seems somewhat odd in that it has a laminate stock, stainless steel barrel but the action is blued.
Is this unusual? I have not seen another like it.
